COMPLEXITY OF THE UNIVERSE

Almighty God, creator of the whole universe, is unique in all ramifications. How He spoke the world, and all that are inside it into existence, remains a mystery. He is self-existing supreme being. Of course, He has no beginning or ending; has no parents. He has no peers or equals.

He decided to create us human beings, and other creations for His own pleasure. The LORD created man last among all the things He created. Jehovah said, “Let us make man in our own image”. God not only made man to be more intelligent than other creatures; He also, made him to have dominion over other animals; and subdue the earth.

Today, man is dominating and subduing the world; in spite of the presence of lots of animal species, some of which are much bulkier and stronger than human beings. The LORD has put inside man, intelligence and creativity; to harness vast natural resources across the globe, and make inventions.

Jehovah’s longstanding patience is exemplified, in the hundreds of years He waited for the first couple (Adam and Eve), and his descendants, to reproduce and replenish the earth. Today, human beings fill everywhere. Anywhere you go, you see ‘sea of humanity’. Population of the world is currently up to seven and half billion people. They are all descendants of Adam and his wife Eve. Very Amazing!

We are all as well, descendants of Noah, after the destruction of human race with flood; with the exception of Noah and his family of eight members. It could be recalled that other creatures inhabiting the earth, were preserved in Noah’s ark in pairs (male and female), before the great flood came and drowned multitude of people, and other creatures.

The world had one language until the building of the Tower of Babel in Shirian (Babylonia); present day Iraq. The one-world language began in Garden of Eden; and spread far and near. People living on earth decided to build a tower, that would move up very far in the sky like ‘skyscraper’. God decided to disperse them to various parts of the earth, by the confusion of different languages.

“And they said, go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men built. And the LORD said, behold the people are one, and they have all one language: and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
“Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language that they may not understand one another’s speech. So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth; and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth”–Genesis 11:4-9. Of course, God who is also creator of all languages, hears every language on earth.

The LORD in His wisdom and benevolence, deposited numerous mineral resources in the soils of virtually all nations. They include: crude oil, solid minerals like gold, silver and uranium. That a country is rich in natural resources, is not of her own making. It is from God. The LORD distributes them according to His will.

The LORD causes seasonal changes in the world; for the overall benefit of the inhabitants, and growth of crops. We basically have four seasons around the world: spring, summer, autumn and winter. Here, in this path of African continent, we are aware of raining season and dry season.

God’s way of doing things at times, is beyond human comprehension. That is why the scripture says, in all things we should give thanks to the LORD, for that is the will of God concerning us. There are certain unpleasant incidents that will occur; we’ill begin to worry why God hasn’t intervened instantly. Hear the probing questions the LORD asked Job when he was in distress.

“Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Who laid the measures thereof”? He asked him further a lot of questions bordering on, mysteries of creation of the world, which Job couldn’t answer. Job 38, 39, 40, and 41.

Job was overwhelmed by God’s greatness and creativity, as He spoke at length, asking Job questions about world and things in it He created. Job finally said, “I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye sees thee. Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes”–Job 42:5-6.

Omnipotent, Omniscience and Omnipresent.
From the inception, God Almighty created the heavens and earth, out of nothing. He spoke them into existence. The earth was originally without form and void, full of darkness. God commanded light to emerge. He divided the light from darkness. He called the light day, and darkness night.

The LORD created everything: land, sea, creatures as well as man, within six days. Now, it has taken scientists, philosophers, and other ‘learned’ people, thousands of years to discover things God created, and make inventions, of what He did in six days. More discoveries and inventions are still going on. Everything is open before our creator. Nothing is hidden from Him, including activities of human beings. He that created the eyes, shall He not see? He who created the ear, shall He not hear? He is all knowing. And by the fear of God, men depart from evil.

His creation of tiny ants and micro-organisms, is a wonder to us. He sees parts of ants, as clearly as we human beings see parts of fellow humans and other sizable animals. For instance, the LORD sees their eyes, mouths and noses very clearly. He takes minutest details of His creations.

The universe is so complex and vast, that the more people study it and make discoveries, the more perplexed they are. The sum of it all is that the LORD God is omniscience, omnipresent and omnipotent. The universe is overwhelmingly vast. The earth is to the universe, what a grain of sand is to seashore.

We are told by scientists, that there are hundreds of billions of galaxies. One galaxy is much bigger than the combination of the solar system; the sun, the nine planets including the Earth, Mars, Mercury and Jupiter. There are over five hundred millions stars in the sky. Each of them is at least thirteen times bigger than the earth. The earth is just a very tiny part of the universe.

If you divide the universe into a trillion parts, the earth is not up to one part. Scientists, including most of the ungodly ones, have come to realize there must be a mighty one responsible for the orderliness of the whole world. Just as God orchestrates the working complexity of the globe, so He also has the power to orchestrate events or circumstances, in the lives of people in the world.

He can pay attention to all the billions of people living on earth, individually and simultaneously. For instance, God listens to the supplications of multitude of people all over the world; and can give instance responses to their individual prayers. The LORD is systematic in what the does. He has the power to predestine the lives of multitude, and be in control of circumstances in their lives. As they draw closer and obey Him, He will be taking care of their problems.

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed in the image of his son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren”—Romans 8: 28-29.

The complexity of our world points to a deliberate designer, who not only created our universe, but sustains it today. The Earth’s size is perfect. If Earth were smaller, an atmosphere would be impossible, like the planet Mercury. If Earth were larger, its atmosphere would contain free hydrogen, like Jupiter. Earth is the only known planet equipped with an atmosphere of the right mixture of gases to sustain plant, animal and human life.

The Earth is located the right distance from the sun. If the Earth were any further away from the sun, we would all freeze. Any closer and we would burn up. Even a fractional variance in the Earth’s position to the sun would make life on Earth impossible. The Earth remains this perfect distance from the sun while it rotates around the sun at a speed of nearly 67,000 mph. It is also rotating on its axis, allowing the entire surface of the Earth to be properly warmed and cooled every day.

And our moon is the perfect size and distance from the Earth, for its gravitational pull. The moon creates important ocean tides and movement, so ocean waters do not stagnate, and yet our massive oceans are restrained from spilling over across the continents.

 Water is colorless, odorless and without taste, and yet no living thing can survive without it. Plants, animals and human beings, consist mostly of water, (about two-thirds of the human body is water). You’ll see why the characteristics of water are uniquely suited to life:

 This property of water means that various chemicals, minerals and nutrients, can be carried throughout our bodies, and into the smallest blood vessels. Water freezes from the top down and floats, so fish can live in the winter. On our Earth, there is a system designed which removes salt from the water and then distributes that water throughout the globe.

Evaporation takes the ocean waters, leaving the salt, and forms clouds which are easily moved by the wind to disperse water over the land, for vegetation, animals and people. It is a system of purification and supply that sustains life on this planet, a system of recycled and reused water.

              

The human, brain simultaneously processes an amazing amount of information. Your brain takes in all the colors and objects you see, the temperature around you, the pressure of your feet against the floor, the sounds around you, the dryness of your mouth, even the texture of your keyboard. Your brain holds and processes all your emotions, thoughts and memories. At the same time, your brain keeps track of the ongoing functions of your body, like your breathing pattern, eyelid movement, hunger and movement of the muscles in your hands.

The human brain processes more than a million messages a second. Your brain weighs the importance of all this data, filtering out the relatively unimportant. This screening function is what allows you to focus and operate effectively in your world. The brain functions differently than other organs. There is an intelligence to it, the ability to reason, to produce feelings, to dream and plan, to take action, and relate to other people.  

The eye can distinguish among seven million colors. It has automatic focusing and handles an astounding 1.5 million messages — simultaneously. Evolution focuses on mutations, and changes from and within existing organisms. Yet, evolution alone does not fully explain the initial source of the eye or the brain — the start of living organisms from non-living matter.

The universe operates by uniform laws of nature. How is it that we can identify laws of nature that never change? Why is the universe so orderly, so reliable? Much of life may seem uncertain, but look at what we can count on day after day: gravity remains consistent, a hot cup of coffee left on a counter will get cold, the earth rotates in the same 24 hours, and the speed of light doesn’t change — on earth or in galaxies far from us. “The greatest scientists have been struck by how strange this is. There is no logical necessity for a universe that obeys rules, let alone one that abides by the rules of mathematics. This astonishment springs from the recognition, that the universe doesn’t have to behave this way. It is easy to imagine a universe, in which conditions change unpredictably from instant to instant, or even a universe in which things pop in and out of existence.”

Richard Feynman, a Nobel Prize winner for quantum electrodynamics, said, “Why nature is mathematically a mystery? The fact that there are rules at all is a kind of miracle.” We know God exists because He pursues us. He is constantly initiating and seeking for us to come to Him.

                     

The phenomenon of Lucifer_ now Satan, needs to be explained for people  to know the origin of rebellion, and suffering in this world. Lucifer was one of the multitudes of angels, created by God Almighty. He was among the Arch-angels. The LORD highly exalted him. In fact, he was a worship angel. Then, he became proud of himself, and rebelled against his creator. He wanted to be like the Most High, he was consequently cast out of the heaven. One-third of angels followed him in his rebellion. They are now devils.

 God said to him, “How are you fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How are you cut down to the ground? You who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart, I will ascend into heaven; I will exalt my throne above the stars of God. I will also sit on the mount of the congregation. On the farthest sides of the north. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds. I will be like the Most High.

 “Yet you shall be bought down to hell. To the lowest depths of the pit. Those who see you will gaze at you and consider you saying, is this the man who made the earth tremble, who shook kingdom? Who made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed its cities, who did not open the house of his prisoners?” – Isaiah 14: 12-17.

 God told him of his eternal judgement: everlasting fire. Satan and his devils (fallen angels), now move to and fro the earth wrecking havoc. The little powers given to them by God are still with them. There is no way they can compare themselves with their creator. When the time comes, they will be cast into the lake of fire, that burns with fire and brimstone.

I wish you decide to worship the only living Mighty God in spirit and in truth. He said, “Behold I stand at the door of your heart and knock. I you will open to me; I will come in and sup with you, and you sup with me”. If you repent and turn a new leaf, you will inherit the gift of eternal life.

Almighty God, I pray you manifest yourself in the life this reader to: save, protect, sustain, prosper and preserve him/her. Make eternal life real to every one of them. Amen.
